WEBINAR: NEW EVALUATION CODES - KEY CONCEPTS AND STRATEGIES FOR THERAPISTS AND THERAPY MANAGERS
(These Medicare Part B changes went into effect on January 1, 2017 and the following live webinar recorded December 2016 is now available for purchase - see link below.)
Audience: It was designed for Physical/Occupational Therapists and Therapy Managers in all settings that bill Medicare Part B.
Webinar Description: In November, Medicare published the Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule for Calendar Year 2017. This rule introduces a three-tiered evaluation system for PT and OT evaluations that went into effect starting January 1, 2017. This 75-minute webinar (plus time for questions) was designed to help you and your team understand the new physical and occupational therapy evaluation codes. Mark McDavid is an occupational therapist, Medicare consultant, and board member for the National Association of Rehab Providers and Agencies (NARA) for which he leads the SNF Special Interest Group. He has a proven track record for operationalizing Medicare updates and changes and will help your team understand the specifics of the new evaluation codes. By the end of this webinar you will:
- Understand how the Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule for CY 2017 may impact your therapy program or clinic.
- Understand the three levels of evaluation for PT and OT and which to use, and when.
- Learn from real-life examples of when to bill which CPT code.
- Understand the background of how we ended up with 3 distinct CPT codes for PT and OT evaluations.
